What colors are available?

Are enclosed blinds-between-glass available with Low-E glass?
Does Blink Blinds + Glass qualify for ENERGY STAR®?

ODL is proud to be an ENERGY STAR partner. As a window and door components, Blink insulated glass with blinds does not qualify by itself for ENERGY STAR. However, blinds-between-glass play an integral part in determining a window or door system’s seal and thermal performance, enabling the window or door system to meet ENERGY STAR requirements. ODL offers a full selection of enclosed blinds between glass that can be used in qualified windows or doors to meet ENERGY STAR requirements.

Does Blink Blinds + Glass require any special handling?

Blinds between glass must be stored in the supplied packaging or on its side with the fingertip controller in the down-position. The blind must be in the fully raised position, i.e. stacked at the top of the door lite. If stored flat, the glass will deflect, which may temporarily disrupt the service of the blind.

Do changes in atmospheric pressure affect the function of the enclosed blinds-between-glass?

Insulated glass can expand and/or contract when it is subjected to changes in atmospheric pressure, such as when it is shipped over mountains. ODL’s enclosed blind between glass uses a capillary tube that lets the insulated glass (IG) adjust to variations in air pressure without allowing water vapor to enter the IG. The glass may require up to 24 hours to acclimate to the change, but then it will function normally.

How much time does the enclosed blind require to acclimate after installation?

Acclimation may take up to 24 hours for window and door blinds, but less for hinged-door blinds. Do not operate the blind until it has acclimated.

Can the window or door that encloses the blind be gas-filled?

No. Since the operation of the blind requires the IG to adjust to differences in atmospheric pressure, the blinds include a capillary tube that precludes a gas fill.

What if the fingertip controller decouples? Can it be fixed?

Yes, learn how to re-couple the fingertip operator by watching this video.
